Why love is the basis of our existence

The most powerful energy of our universe. The concrete of our life.
Terrible news hit me a couple of times lately and it is my wish that this doesn't happen to you.
My former colleague, a 38-year-old mother of two sons - suffers a cardiac arrest and leaves life.
A friend of yesteryear gets breast cancer with metastases and is about to start the fight of her life.
In this Insider's edition, I won't tackle the big question "Why is this happening to them?". Instead, I will dive deeper into the energy that binds us. The energy of Love.
An Indian sage, Nisargadatta Maharaj, said to his followers: "Life is Love and Love is Life."
To me - on the surface - this sentence could be printed on one of those signs you can buy at the home improvement store, right? (Let's park that thought for a while :-)). But its meaning is so profound.
The Indian sage continued:
What holds the body together other than love?
What is desire other than love for your Self?
What is knowledge other than Love for the Truth?
The meaning and shapes can be wrong, but the motive behind it is always love.
The love for the 'me' and the 'mine'. It can be very small or explode and embrace the entire universe.
But Love is what remains. Love is the most powerful force in the universe.
Love connects. It is the solid foundation of relationships and the glue between them when our little 'I-you' came through this cement and caused a crack.
I am convinced that 'Everything that gives you attention grows' (also such a beautiful text for such a home improvement store sign!). But my intention is real and serious. Please, my love, concentrate on the energy of Love.
Focus on what's there instead of what's not.
The fun days at work. The nice moments at home with your partner or your family. There is so much to enjoy.
It is when we experience true Love, we experience ourselves. Our higher self that is.
Only in this way can we become an inimitable force that can bring so much goodness into the world. It is then that you find your Soul's purpose. It is then that you experience that you do not need anything and already have everything you always wanted. It is then that you only want to give and share. It is then that you surrender and the universe flows through you.
It is the surrender to that Love that is simply there. Simply present. And we all deserve it. Are worthy of it. All of us.
Love is all that matters.
