We are all just walking each other home - Ram Dass
Jan 22, 2020A few days ago on December 22nd, the soul of baba Ram Dass left his body. He wasn't born with that name by the way.
He started his journey on our Earth on April 6th, 1931 as Richard Alpert in Massachusetts.
'Little did he know' he was destined to become a spiritual teacher.
Writer and 2020 USA's Presidentscandidate Marianne Williamson, Arianne Huffington, Oprah Winfrey... they were all influenced by his work. His bestseller book 'Be here now' was the 'hippie bible' so to speak in the '70s.
It was Ram Dass who in the 1960s - now being a professor and researcher at the prestigious Harvard University - considered drugs a scientific experiment. It was his first introduction to spirituality as he experienced greater consciousness. This became his life's work.
He went to India and met his guru Neem Karoli Baba, or Maharaj-ji. It was he who gave Richard Alpert his soul name. "Servant of G-D" or Ram Dass.
In 2018, Netflix launched a documentary about the life and work of Ram Dass called "Going home.". A must-see. In half an hour you know the man and his story. Better yet: you are touched to go deep within yourself and ask your soul the following question ...
"Am I heading home or have I taken a D-tour?"
You know, it says something. A Soul departing planet earth in the darkest period of the year. Just as his teachings and writings, he literally left in the dark to become one with the Light. That's huge.
Celebrate his life. Celebrate YOUR life.
Let's continue his work. We are only here for a short amount of time.
Namasté,
