How to get receptive... in order to become inspired! (And my column about Marianne Williamson)

If I knew that our newspaper organized a columnist competition? My husband asked. Um, no. I didn't know that. Something related to time management. But anyone who knows me a bit knows how very much I enjoy writing. I experience so much joy in writing these pieces for you. The possibility that my words encourage or comfort you just means the world to me.

Because that is my purpose.

To inspire you.

In who you are and in what you do.

Did you know that inspiration comes from being "in spirit"? Dutch singer Mathilde Santing sang in a song "Inspiration ... breath blew into the mind" many, many years ago. And that's the way it is. Getting inspiration is - in an unguarded moment or not - being so receptive to the universal energy that it flows through you.

This is how Mozart wrote his most beautiful pieces.

Karl Lagerfeld made his most beautiful collections.

Ernest Hemingway wrote his most beautiful works.

You can look up this receptive state for yourself very easily. Just sit down where you will not be disturbed.
Close your eyes. Let everything you think of go by. Just until your mind is empty. Enjoy the silence that resides in you. At some point, you will experience some images, hear sounds or otherwise. Write all of your experiences down. I'll bet you've come up with refreshing ideas, projects, points of view...

Oh. And my column for the newspaper?

I was inspired and wrote it immediately. I submitted it but I don't have any result yet.
The automatic reply I received after submitting stated that they have received so many columns that I honestly don't know if mine will be picked out.

Maybe I will never hear of it again.

That is why I have my column inserted below.

Marianne

She could easily become America's first female president: Marianne Williamson.
An intriguing lady. She immediately touched Oprah's heart when she wrote "A Return to Love" in 1992. Boom. Bestseller.

Her central thought? Love is the driving force behind everything. Behind the food you eat, the relationships you have and the way you manifest yourself in the world.
Oh. If you are still "in a process" ... there is nothing wrong. Love is always there. It is only human perception. You are either acting out of love or out of fear. You find yourself in the Light or in the dark. You are either Cinderella ... or the angry stepmother.

In 2017, 25 years after the first edition of 'A return to love' appeared, she reflected together on it with "bestie" Oprah on Super Soul Sunday.
Her message is still the same, only more developed as would state an average peanut butter marketer can argue. According to Williamson, America is now having "deep concern" - read: having fear - and she wants to make an effort to facilitate the search of American people for higher wisdom. From out a pace of love.

Marianne is on her way to the Whitehouse. A woman with a mission. With ideas so contradictory to those of Trump that I look forward to the debates when she makes it to be the only Democratic candidate.
Grab some popcorn. The streets will be empty. Or, as they say in her home state of Texas: "Buckle up, you're in for a ride!".
